Althorp House has been part of the Spencer family for more than 500 years. International attention was drawn to Althorp House after the death of Princess Diana, when Earl Spencer had the stable block transformed into a museum delineating the life of his sister. Various items are on display including Diana's wedding dress and several other articles of clothing, family photo albums, letters, speeches, books of condolence and more. Also featured on the property is the oval lake and island (where the Princess is buried) and the temple. Althorp House is open to visitors between July 1 and September 30, excluding August 31.
