York, NYK Places of Worship & Religious Sites
Christian worship at the site of the York Minster dates back to 300 AD and the present minster has roots as early as the 7th century. Surviving the ages (with the assistance of restoration), this imposing Gothic cathedral houses the largest section of medieval stained glass in the world, including the Rose Window and the splendid Five Sisters Window. Worship services and musical events are held regularly.
