Whitby Museum
Run by the Whitby Literary and Philosophical Society, the Whitby Museum showcases a range of exhibits and archives outlining the town's history, geography and artifacts. The museum adjoins the Pannett Art Gallery and the Pannett Tea Room is open year round with light refreshments. Groups welcome, closed Mondays.

Located along Whitby's harbour, the Captain Cook Memorial Museum features several exhibits showcasing the life and discoveries of the now famed sea captain. The museum is housed in the 17th century building where the captain lodged while training as an apprentice and regularly features special events and exhibitions. Open year round.
