The Cathedral was begun in 1096 and is a striking Norman building. It is home to the second highest spire and the largest monastic cloisters in England. The roof illustrations are exceptional artistic works. Visitors are welcome to the religious services and to tour the cathedral outside of worship hours. Admittance is free but donations are appreciated.
