The Blackpool Illuminations is an annual lights festival in the seaside destination of Blackpool. However, the event is not just any light festival. The illuminations were founded in 1879 and is ones of the resort town's signature attractions. For over 60 days each autumn, over a million bulbs light several miles of the promenade in all manner of light displays with lasers, neon lights, fibre optics, searchlights and floodlighting.
