Dover, KEN Castles & Stately Homes
• A WorldWeb.com Travel Guide to Castles & Stately Homes in Dover, KEN, England.
Dover Castle dates back to 1180 when it was originally built. It has played many roles in the history of England, including serving as home to King Henry VIII and as a lookout for Admiral Ramsay during World War II. In addition to several war-related displays, visitors can also enjoy a tour through the secret wartime tunnels used during World War II: a hospital wing, kitchen, communication rooms and other key features have been recreated to look, sound and smell as they were in 1940. Picnic areas are available on the castle grounds.
