The History of Sissinghurst Caslte dates back to before the 15th century. Most recently, the castle was owned by Vita Sackville-West and her husband Harold Nicholson, who purchased it in 1930 in an attempt to rescue the property. They began building a garden, and after several years of planning and planting, the Sissinghurst Garden became a main attraction that is now known as one of the finest gardens in England. An oast house museum on the property clearly outlines the histroy of the property.
