Canterbury, KEN Places of Worship & Religious Sites
• A WorldWeb.com Travel Guide to Places of Worship & Religious Sites in Canterbury, KEN, England.
The Canterbury Cathedral has been a centre of worship for over 14 hundred years. Many people have made pilgrimages to the Cathedral since the murder of Archbishop Thomas Becket in 1170. It is said that the Archbishop was murdered in the church by four of King Henry II's knights because he disagreed with the king's interference in church business. Of special note is the cathedral entrance, which was constructed to commemorate Henry V's victory at Agincourt.
