• A WorldWeb.com Travel Guide to Historic Sites & Interpretive Centres in Winchester, HAM, England.
The Great Hall is situated in what was once the Winchester Castle, and was the scene for several significant historical events: Sir Walter Raleigh's trial and sentencing and Parliament's first meeting. King Henry III influenced the decoration of the hall and was often there dining and discussing affairs of state with his barons during his reign (1216 to 1272). Also housed in the Great Hall is a painted wooden disk said to be King Arthur's Round Table.
