Welcome to Reading, BRK!
Every year, the town of Reading
in Berkshire becomes a haven for music lovers as world-famous bands perform in
the
Reading
Festival. The three-day concert, which started in 1971, features a line-up
of top national and international bands. Although the festival has been drawing
visitors to Reading for the August Bank holiday weekend for years, the town is
also home to a variety of full-time attractions. The exhibits at
The
Museum of Reading highlight the town's past, including Reading's history as
home of the world's largest biscuit factory.
The
Museum of English Rural Life is also located in Reading and focuses on telling
the story of the English countryside and its residents through various artifacts,
books, photographs and films. Those who enjoy seeing wildlife can visit
Beale
Park, located just outside of town, to view local and exotic species. To experience
Reading like a local, tourists can check out the town's extensive shopping and
nightlife scene.
